MTPF was inaugurated on 13th January, 1953 by Late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. It was setup by the collaboration of M/s Oerlikon Machine Tool Works, Switzerland.

LOCATION: MTPF is located at AMBERNATH (Maharashtra), about 65 Kms from Mumbai. MTPF has a factory area of 1,53,824 sq. meters (38 Acres), while the shop and office area are 26,263 sq. meters and 18,739 sq. meters respectively.
